Communities Heart Beat

In the hustle and bustle of the busy Johannesburg city life we find ourselves at the very heart of the community. Where people who has not had the opportunity to complete school or go to university try and make it day by day. People from all ages and nationalities walking the streets in hope to find a job to provided an income for their families.

RLabs Jozi took to the streets today to interview some of this people. We found that unemployment was on everyone's lips. This gave us the opportunity to speak into peoples lives and tell them about the HOPE that RLabs Jozi intends to bring. Education, Empowerment, and skill. This is only the beginning and with the up and coming champions who has embraced the movement we will surely see a changed community.

Smiling....!!!! In the beginning it was all about the volunteering hours needed in psychology. Little did I know, God has a brighter beautiful vision for our country. This beautiful surprise was waiting for our arrival. I have stopped complaining, I have stopped blaming other people for all the wrongs and bad in our country. I have stopped complaining because I am up on my feet doing something about the change that I want to see in our country. I realized complaining with no deeds makes me one of the people who contribute negatively to our country.

Rlabs is an NGO which started in Cape town, its all about making a difference and giving hope. There are many ways to do this and our focus at the moment is being trained Social Media wise in order for us to train other people too. Train the trainee project. Our online counselling will be open soon on mxit and this is our way of helping as an ambulance, its our transport to real counselling and invitations for Social Media training.

Its just a road, a path for cars and people to travel on, that's all i use to think of a road. At Serpentine street Hursthill Johannesburg; well this side a road looks like a boarder, a division, our own neighbours are living in boxes while we have too many rooms to spare. Don't give them a room, teach them how to mix cement and make bricks, teach them how to build. One of the residents Thomas Mthembu explained how difficult it is to get a job. Difficult to get a job, yes maybe, well if you don't have the right tools then definitely. So this is what Rlabs Jozi  Hopegivers are going to do, we will teach them how to use computers, the Internet, how to compile a C.V, how to search for jobs on the Internet, how to advertise their need for jobs on the Internet, we will help them sign up for an email, etc. Give Hope to someone, bring light, it is difficult to work in the dark.

TODAY TOGETHER WITH THE RLABS GROUP WE TOOK ON THE STREETS WITH SOCIAL JOURNALISM DID INTERVIEW'S WITH A FEW OF OUR COMMUNITY MEMBER'S THERE VIEW'S ON TIVATES WHAT IS NEEDED IN OUR SURROUNDING AREA AND WHAT IS CAUSING US TO FEEL DIMOTIVATED OUR TALENT AND SKILLS IS SO MUCH NEEDED TO HELP OTHERS WHO HAS LOST ALL HOPE DUE TO UNEMPLOYMENT ,DRUGS WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO SILENCE THE VOICE OF THE ENEMY BY CREATING MORE POSITIVITY  TO FILL THE GAB OF HOPLESSNESS MORE FASILITIES ARE NEEDED IN OUR COMMUNITY WHICH WILL EMPOWER OUR YOUTH ESPECIALLY SO WE COULD NOT GIVE UP ON OUR VISION AND REACH OUR DREAMS RLABS JOZI IS HAVING SUCH A BIG IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY IT FEELS LIKE A DREAM CAUSE THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR AND BELIEVE ME CAUSE RLABS IS THE FIRST ORGANISATION TO HAVE REACHED OUT IN WESTBURY IT IS REALLY CHANGING LIVES WE EVEN GOT INVITED TO A LUNCH BY ONE OF OUR FELLOW CITIZIN WELL RESPECTED WOMEN IN THE COMMUNITY POVERTY IS ALSO PLAYING A VERY BIG PART IN THE COMMUNITY OUR SOLOUTION TO ALL OUR PROBLEMS IS WORKING TOGERTHE AS ONE  BY DOING THIS IS WE CAN ONLY ACOMPISH IT BY MOTIVATIN ONE ANOTHER LEAVING THE CRITISIM BEHIND AND STANDING WITH ONE ANOTER KNOWING THAT WE BEHIND EACH OTHER ALL THE WAY WHEN TURNING THE BAD INTO GOOD.

We need to have a better vision of our lives and we need to stand together so we together can help each other to be our wrong ways.

We need to come together, us as youngsters and we need to seek the guidance of our seniors so that we can be led into new ways, so that we can have a new understanding and so that we can create a new young people and change our lives and community.  

TO PROMOTE RLABS AND TO HEAR COMMENTS OF CITIZENS FROM JOZI

Me and the group consisting of todays guys who went into the streets are Angelo,Ethol,Gary,Venice,Lance,Monique,Fernando,Brandon and Eathon just telling some residents of the hursthill community about our purpose in the area and want we trying to do,by helping ourselves and our neighbourly creations from above females and males.The area of hursthill is full of dirt the by- passer said to me when I ask his opinion.Me and Brandon spoke to Nicolene King and Howell just telling them about what our purpose is and what we trying to promote at the training centre and what tools they can use in future for their own benefit.We spoke about drug abuse and to create something more valuable than the older generation to get GOD back in our life style again just to break down the enemy in the township the devil poisoned mind to corrupt our human beings to life we get forced in.Keanon Cupido is part of 836 FC and also said to us that they are doing house visits to help drug abussive people and let them find god start to do something more creative and to known for good activities in their communities.Today is the second last day of womens month and in south africa we have miss PJ POWERS as the choice of the day and then looking at animals mine personally is the donkey reason why JESUS had the oppurtunity to ride on one and did any of you yet?The way we speak and study the enviroment and nature and its creations here at rlabs johannesburg is of outer importance to us thats why we want to clean up,go out and be part of the world in these kind of activities,projects and mind-sharing of the world and its creations.Potholes another issue in the area of Hursthill and all around,so garbiagge bags for a clean up operation will be a good method of involvement and please bring back the road workers,and please people dont disturb men and women while they busy trying to help us all by keeping our areas looking good.We all know the area we reside in represent us and my thaught of the day"keep a positive mind,towards a brilliant future". Fernando and the crew of rlabs Hursthill.

LIFE IN DESTRUCTION

NO matter were you are in the world you will find that life is hard and most of the time you see that people are sad and unhappy. to day i saw the most beautiful thing LIFE IN DESTRUCTION. A beautiful Flower surrounded by dirt. By things you cant imagine but all i can say is were there is darkness theres is light no matter how small no matter if its not bright it is beautiful the flower was the light in DESTRUCTION

According ot the invetigation on the 29 th of August 2012 done be Lance Daka . Many people are actually being affected by othe peoples actions in the neighborhood .

How does someone make a diiference in the neighborhood of Hursthill on the Western side of Johannesburg? Each indivivdual can start by doning small things which will be a huge action in the eyes of the eyes of the community. One can begin with stopping   the littering of the cigaretes .  A lady that was interviewed on this day had said ,"  that pollution the neighborhood is the major problem''.
Her children can't even play in a clean environment.

Flip side of the coin

So on my journey through the suburbs of westburry i came across a confusing yet interesting site. On the one side a beautiful hillside property and on the flip side i saw a dilapidated house . So i asked myself why. i came up with a few thoughts that sprung up. Could it be a issue of money , Status or just segregation . does money give u a right to bask in beauty or does status allow you to  
 be separated from those of less statue . so next time you come across a "flip side of the coin " ask yourself why .

O you of little faith...

My week was filled with uncertainties, doubt and little faith. At my check in at Rlabs Jozi today was only a 5 due to my personal struggles however it took only a few minutes until my spirits were lifted again.  I learned a lot of things especially how one should always look at the brighter side and how there is always a door opened when one door has been shut how one should look at what they have instead of what they don't have.  God is there; He listens; He will not give you a load that is more than you can handle- oh no- he gives you a load you can carry and in the process make you stronger.  As you interact with other people you realize life is not bad after all...I believe that is what Rlabs Jozi is about - the effort to instill faith and hope in the lives of other people- a second chance. New Adventures

It is not easy for some people to take that step of faith into the world of technology.
RLabsJozi  Has embarked on a journey to provide a safe place for people to do just that.


We have been joined by a diverse group of young people that took that step. Coming from different backgrounds and places here in Johannesburg it is interesting to see how they respond to vast world of technology.

Day two of the Introduction to Social Media class gave them a chance to share there experience thus as Blogging was the tool of the day.

Storytelling is a big part of RLabs history and with much enthusiasm the participants go into the swing of thing. We are looking forward to read about all there new adventures.

What my experince has been with the Rlabs Jozi

On the day of  the of  the 22 of August i was introduced to Angelo and Gary they run a social networking organization the experienced has been beyond my imagination of what social networking is all about the apps that one can use in everyday life which is essential normally we do not have the time to have a clear prospective to what the site has to offer us we will be lost when using these sites an interacting with each other by making life much more easier for us the nice part about this is meeting new people how is this gonna help me as a person and to teach others what i once never knew before learning something new everyday empowers one and  something from the rest of the group in the business world allot of skills is required this experience takes one on a life time journey and having to take it with one across the world i hope with what i I'm still gonna learn will help me reach my goals in future and help my community members, it is amazing how much time and effort the RLabs team is putting in to helping us. They giving us hope where all was lost and showing that we should not give up at all times.It is not always easy having to make make the sacrifice of being away from family and friends. I believe this is a success because of the road they have taken with Christ.

I want to tell our citizens that there will be an event scheduled for 2014 and during the year there were numerous robotic events that took place teaching our people from around the world how advanced ergonomics has grown over the years and how intelligent men and women has become to create these remarkable creations.The events has been set out for all the people who create with the purpose to show intelligence,skill and how men and friend in another form can work together and be astonished in their own creative order,if its Gods will let us from Africa build something that can prevent air pollution through robotic intelligence.

Lets Get'it

Open minded that I Am, i arrived with much anticipation . As the introduction began experiences was shared and it opened my thoughts on the purpose and relevance of the RLABS initiative . as we all know that drugs affect us directly an indirectly . So the empowerment that the RLABS initiative creates it allows people of all ages ,race and backgrounds the opportunity to grasp the ever evolving concept of technology on a social media platform . and this again allows experiences , life styles and possibly advise to be shared among people who share a similar history or experience . So from here forth i hope to firstly empower myself and from then empower those around me and those who have not yet been exposed to the platform of social media. SO Lets Get'it.............

This was our very first community member who stepped into our space here at Rlabs Jozi to register for the ” introduction to social media ” course we are offering this week. We are extremely exited to see the enthusiasm in the eyes of those who walks through our doors into our creative space.

This is where we will grow, this is where we will empower others and this space is where we will change the world, one person at a time.

Johannesburg will never be the same again, and if you have the heart to see your community changed, you are welcome to become a change agent, and as a wise man once said, ” in order for one to change the world, you first have to change yourself “.
