I was so looking forward to the Easter week-end, not only for the significance of what it means for those of us that are Christians, as we remember and commemorate the death of Jesus Christ, and his resurrection, but also a chance to have a break, and take some time out for rest.
Things have been very hectic leading up to this special break, so how wonderful it was to get up Friday morning, go to Church, be blessed with a most wonderful message about the "Spotless Lamb of God". being Jesus His Son, who was sacrificed to die on the cross, for our sins.
After Church, I received confirmation from my daughter that she would join us for the day, so I was really looking forward to that. However, just as I was getting ready to tidy up, I received a call from the Security Guard where my project is. He said to please come through, as there had been a burglary at my project's premises. My husband and daughter accompanied me, on arrival, we opened up the and went to the kitchen. We found that the glass door that leads to the outside patio, had been removed, and worst of all, the fridge that stands in the kitchen was gone. Along with that all the plastic plates and cups we use for feeding our children had been taken as well. The fridge was approx 4.25 L fridge big, and one that had been given to me years ago by my sister. I had as a second fridge, but had decided to donate to the project, so that we could have a fridge facility at the project.
Well, well, well, I cannot tell you the utter devastation I felt about the fact that someone had actually removed the glass door with a crow bar, which was lying there, stolen our fridge, and carried it across to the palisade fencing, lifted it over the palisade fencing and carried it off probably through to the informal settlement where the beneficiaries of my project live. This was such a sad feeling, to think that someone would be so unkind to actually steal our fridge, which is so needed for our project. Then have the audacity to throw out all the contents of the fridge, which was strewn all over on the grass near the palisade fencing, and be so determined to carry off this large 4.25 L fridge. It is an old fridge, nothing to write home about, but working and large enough to keep bottles of cold water for our children, keep our stocks for food we needed to cook throughout the week, etc, etc.
Well, what more can I say, but there went my wonderful Friday meant for leisure, meaning I spent the rest of the morning at the Police Station making a case, eventually got home the afternoon and then spent the rest of the day with my family, and another couple, friends of the project, who joined us when they heard of what had happened. I could not help thinking throughout the day that this never should have happened on this signficant day, of all days.
Today after class, I will be going to the project site, and a Police Constable will be coming out to take finger prints. What has emerged since, is that there is evidence that this might have been an inside job, so hopefully, we may still get our fridge back, if the evidence can lead to the thief responsible for this.
The picture below is of a brand new fridge, much smaller though. This picture is a pic of the fridge my daughter blessed me with for a birthday, anniversary and Christmas gift all wrapped in one. So, maybe...just maybe there will be another one like this coming our way, being a "special delivery", Divinely sent, to replace the one stolen. As this happened on Good Friday, I am reminded of the words Jesus said on the cross, which is "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they have done". In this case, it was blatantly done, but may God, deal with them.

How people are surviving
I am going to write about the shack houses meaning to say the mukluk houses.
These houses are being built by people who don't want to pay services to the government. They just get an open space where was being demolished by city council then they star making their own houses. What am tying to explain is, that life is very dangerous because any time you will be in trouble as well as your safety also.
They are using illegal connection of electricity if there is any fault with the connections of electricity every one will die so am tying to encourage others that lets not put our life in danger they survive without toilets and water which is not health to them .

Single Parenting
Growing up with my mother being the only parent was the most amazing experience. Now i cam raise my daughter by my self.
Growing up in a house of girls, they've learnt about independence, about team work, about climbing ladders and lifting couches and fixing(OK, attempting to fix) leaky showers faucets. We have a tool box. We have a grill. (We also have a plumber if we need him.) Looking at the gear in my car trunk, a mechanic once asked if i was a gym teacher. Female strength is worth nurturing, and it just happens organically in an all-girl house.
Fathers these days think being there for his child financially is being a good parent. But its not true, being a good parent is being there for your child financially, emotionally and fiscally. being a good parent is simply loving your child unconditionally regardless of being with the mother or not.
I love my child and there is nothing i love more then being a single mother.

Blogging Class
Today I had the privilege of teaching the Blogging Class to four lovely attendees....
And as luck and technology would have it, I could not upload a pic. *a very sad face*
We went out onto the streets to take some pictures of the area for the blogging in our class. Brandon, my co-facilitator took us around because I am unfamiliar to the surrounds.....
We took some lovely pictures and the stories that the guys want to blog about seems quite interesting.
Here is to our Rlabs Jozi guys! Well done!

Life IS About The Choices we Make
Todays class at RLabsJozi has reminded me that life is about the choices we make.
From waking up in the morning, to choosing the clothes you are going to wear, to the way you wish to wear your hair, the shoes you wish to wear, what you feel like eating and what day you choose for the day to be.
Today we had classes full of people who chose to be part of a social revolution, who chose to empower themselves with knowledge, who chose to do something about what they know and to better themselves.
Make the choice today to wake up and decide that you are going to have a good day, make the choice to grab any opportunity that avails itself to you, make the choice to get as much knowledge as you can to make a change in this world!
RLabsJozi has made a choice to change peoples lives, to invest time to provide others with knowledge and power! Its a fast moving train, with lots of golden tickets - dont sit back and miss out on an opportunity of a life time!
