Don't Take In Criticism

Sometimes the people who are criticized the most are the ones who try to do something constructive with their lives. It amazes me how people who do nothing want to criticize those who try to do something. After many years of suffering over the criticisms of people and trying to gain their approval, I finally decided that if God is happy with me, that is enough.

Each time someone criticizes you, try making a positive affirmation about yourself to yourself. Don’t just stand by and take in everything anyone wants to dump on you. Establish independence! Have your own attitude about yourself and don’t be defeated by criticism.

During Winston Churchill’s last year in office, he attended an official ceremony. Several rows behind him two gentlemen began whispering. “They say Churchill is getting senile.” “They say he should step aside and leave the running of the nation to more dynamic and capable men.” When the ceremony was over, Churchill turned to the men and said, “Gentlemen, they also say he is deaf!”

Lord, at the end of the day, I want You to be happy with the way I lived, whether others criticize me or not. If You are happy with me, that’s enough! Amen.

MY BRAIN IS COLD

What a Tuesday mxm but it's more like a blue Tuesday because everything today just felt dead to me lol .
I feel like iam busy getting flu ,i didn't actually want to get out of my lovely warm bed but i just had to because my mom went back to bed and she left me with all the cleaning .I finally got the strangh to get up and do all my mom cleaning but i now just got abit carried away and forgot all about the classes i needed to be at every  Tuesday morning @9 am @Rlabs .So now i arrived late for my class but I'm so happy i didn't miss anything yet.....

life is all about doing something special in life

First of all you have to have the lord in your life.In life there are different challenges enjoy live to the fullest.I think life is what you make out of it .life is all about meeting new people learning new things doing different things in life.

A Season For Everything

So its time for a New Week! Rlabz Jozi to do their thang! Very exciting  time for all the champions to empower others just as they have been empowered! There comes a time and season for everything in life, this week lets embrace what life has to offer. Lets not wait for something to happen - lets be the ones to make it happen! Lets embrace each and every opportunity given unto us and remember that each obstacle comes with its lessons and teachings.Life is after all what you make of it! Lets decide to be Victors and not Victims! Lets take control of our lives and make sure that we are touching someones life along the way! 
So here's to a week filled with lots of soaking in the positives and ignoring the negatives!

Knowledge Is Power

Just when you think you "know it all" there is to know about the internet and all it has to offer, two strangers (who now have become part of our family) come along and let you know that you really "don't know it all! :) And just like your brain you aren't using it to its full capacity! But there is hope and good news - they will show you how you can use this thing called "social media" ! So training takes place everyday after a hard days work and here we discover how AWESOME this social media thing is and how many tools and opportunities are at your disposal - right there just waiting for you to tap into this virtual world you had absolutely no idea - its almost like finding a magic lamp (Google)  and wala you can find out ANYTHING you need to know! The BEST part is you get to teach other people about this unknown world & power we know so little about and soak in their emotions and feelings of joy, self worth, excitement, happiness & knowledge. You being able to teach others that will teach others that will teach others and so on! A never ending circle of empowering people- letting them know that they "can" and that they are "able to" no matter WHO they are WHAT they are, WHERE they come from and WHY the are able to make a change and be the change!
We are able to practice Gods greatest commandment "LOVE", putting others needs before ours and understanding that we are empowered through empowering others.

It takes ama-zing people to sacrifice their time, effort & lives to teach others and take them along on this journey!
Gary & Angelo you have changed lives, motivated, empowered, encouraged, walked the walk and inspired many lives in your short time here! I know God has great things in store for you and that your lives will be enriched seven fold the amount that you have imparted in others!

I was quite exciting when i heard about the computer course,
it was always my dream to do a computer course but finances
never allowed me to do it,so now you must know when this came along,
it was like a dream come through.

Today at Rlabs jozi we took a walk in the streets of the community.In our community we are having a big problem and that is unemployment.I interviewed a lady called Sbongile she is a mother of a few kids.Due to unemployment she is forced to sell food on a corner next to the nursing college.  

This lady come from as far as Soweto to make a living by selling food.She have to wake up 3o clock in the morning.She have to prepare at that time because she dont have a proper shelter to store her equipment.Sbongile  also have a problem with the metro police because the come and take there belongings.Its not fare because there is no jobs and alot of people are suffering out there she said.She said they asked if they can park a caravan there but the cops said they can not leave it there for 24 hours.

She say she need proper shelter because she think of the rainy days.SHE told me thet the business is

CABLE THEFT

Walking around with my R labs class in Plunkett avenue and i noticed that the telephone cable was cut on both sides. It made me think,what if there is an emergency? how do we as the community get hold of the police,fire brigade or ambulance etc

Is cable theft a necessity because of unemployment or is it a new way to get cash for drugs. Is it really necessary to put your life on the line for a few hundred rands when at the end of the day u know its not worth it.

There are still a high number of reports of Telkcom and power cables all over the world, with cables being stolen for scrap especially copper and that leads to metal prices increasing.

Us as the community should report cable theft and put a stop to all this, to make our country a better and more safer place for the children,leaders for tomorrow and at the same time help ourselves.   

Health Departments Hospitals and Clinics

First of all their surface is very poor.You sit for hours before getting any attendance and that is not cool I think they should more effort in what they are doing .you should be attending people fast enough that are not feeling well .You must be up and awake working at these places .There is no time for sitting around and having your own conversation..They should do their job get more people that are good at what they are doing.They should be more accurate at what they do for a living . They are busy with peoples life's in their hands. They should take their jobs very serious your health is very important.Life is good live it to the fullest put GOD in your life first of all .Life is nothing without him in your life.They should attend people in time.

BETTER LIFE

Hi there my name is  Samantha and I'm from a community called Westbury here crime is high or that is what i thought,but i guess i was wrong.As i grew up i always wanted to changed the way our people was living,there is a high rate of poverty.There are people that go to bed without food to eat,children go school hungry.That was the way a friend of mine was living and it broke my heart,knowing that i ate and she had nothing to eat.

Today me and my group at Rlabs Jozi went to interview people on the streets and i was chocked at the number of people who struggle.I spoke to a guy named Aluwani Ramuhulu who said that he wish that government could do something about the unemployment.They should created more jobs then there will be less hunger in our country.

We asked for a free education so that each and every child have freedom to attend any school they wish to go.There are young people pushing around trolleys for a living collecting empty bottles and changing them for cash.They stand up early hours that is like a job for them they support their families,they have children that goes to school,they need to eat.

That's were crime comes in the young children don't find jobs because they left school reason being their parents could effort it.Most of them had to leave school to look after their siblings,there are no jobs but the streets are full of dirt yet there are so many people without jobs Y.

That makes u think will there be jobs for our children one day,we sent our children to school through the rainy days to sit at home Y.They say our children is our future but the way things are going now our children wont have a future.Please we need an increase in job employment urgently.

HOW TO SAVE OUR COMMUNITY

THIS IS MY STORY ABOUT A DAYCARE CENTRE THAT WAS BURNT DOWN WHICH HAPPENED EARLY THIS YEAR.

FROM WHAT  I SAW WAS JUST WHY WOULD SOME ONE DO THAT TO KIDS WHO DONE NOTHING TO THEM HOW CAN THEY BE SO COLD HEARTED  WE AS A COMMUNITY CAN FIX THAT TODAY WE CAN HELP THESE IN NEED BY STANDING TOGETHER AS ONE CAN DO ALOT  THERE ARE PLACES LIKE THIS THAT SOME OF US THAT NEED IT BUT WE CANT DO ANYTHING CAUSE OF WHAT OTHERS WIIL DO TO US IF WE TRY AND MAKE A LIVING.

AFTER USING CRYSTAL METH[TIK]

As a young girl i was never on drugs so i don't know how does it feel to use it
.
But what i can see from young people drugs is really taking them for a ride[SAD].I was reading this poem of TIK it was writing by a young girl who was in jail for drug charges and was really addicted to crystal meth.She was released from jail but true to her story the drugs owned her.This drug called crystal meth.It is a drug that can let you do things and you don't even realize that you did it,this drug can destroy homes and tear families apart.Its a drug that you can easily found most people know it as crystal meth[TIK],this drug's power is strong you can try it once it MIGHT let you go but if you try it TWICE it's gonna own your soul.After that you will start to steal,you will lie,you will do anything just to get high drugs can take kids from parents and parents from kids,it can turn people from GOD and believe me that's just the start it'll take your looks and your pride,it'll ravish your body,it'll control your mind it'll own you completely,you will get nightmares while lying in bed,the voices you will hear from inside your head.

This drug will be your MASTER,and you will be hes SLAVE,he will EVEN go with you,when you go to your GRAVE.It can bring you more MISERY then WORDS can tell,it will take you by HAND AND LEAD YOU TO HELL AND YOUR GRAVE .[SAD]YOUNG PEOPLE PLEASE STOP DOING DRUGS ITS FROM THE POINT OF HELL

A walk to remember

This is my last week here in Johannesburg and what an amazing time this has been.Life is such an blessing and to have lived a month of my life with the people of Jozi was and still is an extreme blessing.

We came here to do some work and empower some people in order that they may empower their community. Touching one life at a time and in time , changing their homes, streets, areas, town and eventually their country. They actually have the world as their aim because they are change agents, bringing change to everything their hands and lives touch.

Yet, to be totally honest with all who reads this post. The people of Jozi who we, Angelo King and myself had to come empower, actually touched, empowered and influenced our lives so much that future generations will be blessed through who we have become in this month.

And I sit and wonder, if these champions of Rlabs Jozi could have a great impact on two total strangers lives who they came to love and know in only a month, " WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO ACHIEVE IN THEIR COMMUNITY, THE REST OF THEIR LIVES "

I am amped up to see what the future will produce and I will be watching this space and so should you.The bottom image is just two of the lives a people bringing hope has transformed forever. People of Jozi, be blessed.

My experience

My experience of the week was very nice. I experience a lot of things i did not now and dream of, The class teacher so very friendly person and what makes the class nicer is the way the teacher explain the work, the work i tot i will never experience   things like this because i never had the opportunity to go to computer class or do my grade 12 So thank you to Angelo to his brother and to f.w.center for giving us this opportunity. This class gave us a lot of experience to fine work when time goes on

Taking a step in life.

My name is Viola Daniels and I live in a colored community in Johannesburg.A friend of mine told me that F.W.C. would be offering computer lessons at their church. This happened a few months ago and I waited in anticipation for it to happen.On Sunday 02 September 2012 she came to inform me that these lessons would start on Monday 03 September 2012.I always had the desire to take computer lessons but always put it off.

I was very skeptical when I walked into the premises of F.W.C on Monday morning,not knowing what to expect.I was quite nervous and was just out of it.When I  heard that the class was full I felt disappointed
thinking that I had missed my chance after making up my mind.When told that there was an afternoon session I was overjoyed and felt at peace.There is a saying that goes that one is never too old to learn and that
is true.My daughter had bought a computer in 2008 which she had used for her studies.She moved out in 2010 and left for me to use.I never used it as I felt it was a stupid idea.There was no interest whatsoever because I felt it would be difficult to use it.

In the past three days I  have come to learn that one can accomplish a lot with a computer.I don't
regret taking the decision to come for these sessions.The people that are with me in these sessions are awesome.They do not look down on one another.It is as if God had a plan for making us a group.We
learn a lot from one another everyday.The facilitators are just as awesome as they are well equipped,friendly and just great people to be around with.

I know that what I have learnt thus far at these sessions is of great value for me.If it was not for the opportunity given to me to make what I thought was impossible - possible I would never have taken this
step.To be honest I think the computer at home would still have just been an ornament for display
purposes.

Thank you for making me realise that nothing is impossible.By the grace of God I know that he had
a hand in this decision.

Rlabs Jozi my experience

The first time I heard about Rlabs was from a member of my church. My first impression was that Rlabs is all about the community and as I came to the premises I found out for myself what it was all about.

I might have registered late but they were kind enough to let me enroll, I did not expect that.  It seems that the facilitators are more caring than you would think.  Another thing I liked about it was the fact that the courses were free which is understandable because this is for the community members who do not have the funds to educate themselves further so they might be more successful in their careers or general lifestyle.  The people here are friendly and are not too uptight yet they are strict about the rules which is a good balance for me.  At the end of the day everybody has a great experience in learning new and exciting things.

Rlabs has really lived up to my expectations and it is a good thing for people to know about this experience.  This could be the community college of our country, well I certainly hope so.

"HELL-LOW,My name is Heather Herforth by some people call me TWIGGY,uhm....I am 19 years of age but soon to be 20 and I'm very HAPPY to say I've came a long way and I've gone true alot.Firstly i want to say I'm a young lady with BIG DREAMS who wants to become something in life.I am very lucky to have a strong mother in my life who stands behind everything good i do,she is a very positive person I LOVE HER SO MUCH.I have 4 wonderful sisters who i love dearly,i finished my MATRIC at Westbury Secondary School in the year 2011 and i have to say that my schooling years was the best ever ,i have came across alot of wonderful friends and lost a few but the other half that I'm left with are truly a blessing to my life.We supported each other in everything but i have to say we have came a long way.GOD also played a very huge role in my life ,he has also done amazing things in my life and I'm proud to say that he still has BIG things in stores for his little angel,i put all my trust in him.

What i;ve learned to is that people need people to learn we need each other to grow in life.Here in Jozi the crime is high and by doing this computer classes it keeps me out of touble.I have told others about this place Rlabs and are looking forward to coming to the classes too.

i am a young sixteen year old going through a hard life so for all the teen age girls please guys look out of what u choose in life today's world is not the same like back than we have more than what our eldest had so don't miss use it u gonna be sorry when its to late for these of you all that left school at a young age go back even if you to old there is a night school out there you can even learn more there than what u learnt at school most girls sit at home because they left school today they think why didn't i just go to school when i was told to now iam at home doing nothing there where i was gonna be working now. that's how far my story goes think about it please.
